When you say “Chelsea Tadeyeske/Ridley Tankersley” five times fast, their names might melt together like a handful of warm crayons—the same may happen if you read through these poems at 5X maximum speed. Written over the course of 10 months, whenever they were together in physical place/time, these poems draw up a world obsessed with space, built from external and internal observations—two towers facing one another, becoming the other’s flattering funhouse mirror. Tadeyeske and Tankersley illuminate the mundane and make it matter, make it devastating, complex, paradoxical, beautiful, and in love with being alive.
Chelsea Tadeyeske lives in Milwaukee, WI where she co-edits pitymilk press and curates poetry readings in her apartment, The Bell Tower. She is the author of several chapbooks including If You Bend It Backwards Nothing Really Happens (Rabbit Catastrophe Press, 2017), Princess Diana (Bathmatics, 2019), What If Loving You Wasn’t About Me (w/ edie roberts, Bathmatics, 2023), Island Weather (pitymilk press, 2022) and Orange Poems (pitymilk press, 2024). She is a Virgo sun, Libra rising and Aquarius Moon born in the year of the snake.
